Megan's Birthday 2009 Layout

I really wanted to try a new feature that Studio J just added which was "stitching."  I added the zig zag stitch to the layout, so easy and cute.  I thought these colors went with what Megan was wearing and also her really cool lamp that her Grandma gave her.

Fry Gift Box

This fry box was so much fun to make, it is one of the images on the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I used the Typest paper pack and the Blue Ribbon Stamp set.

I added a cello bag of chocolates inside the box to finish off the gift.

Layout with a Flower Spinner

I created this layout with the new Close to My Heart Elements paper.  There was a flower theme for the gymnastics meet so I continued with the theme.

I used the new Close to My Heart Cricut Cartridge Art Philosophy to create the large flower on the left side page and the 3D flowers on the right side page as well as the little tag.

The spinner pattern is in the Magic idea book.  The spinner itself is on the outside of the sheet protector.  I think its so fun to spin and see other pictures hiding behind the spinner!

I have spent the last month doing all kinds of landscaping in the front yard and the back.  I've been "playing" with rocks, dirt and a huge pile of beauty bark.  I started in the front yard by creating a raised flower bed between our yard and the neighbors.

I had rocks left over from the tiers I created in the backyard last summer so I used those to create the front edge of the flower bed.  I pulled some edging pieces from the other side of the front yard and used those to separate the flower bed from the neighbor's yard.

I curved the flower bed around towards the front of the house to incorporate the bed that was already there.

Next was building the steps down to the fence gate on that side of the house. It was a lot of digging, but I think it turned out really well.

Once I was finished with the front yard, I moved to the back.  I had tons of river rock all piled up under the stairs from all the digging I did last summer so I decided to create some faux dry river beds.  The areas under the deck were mostly dirt so I decided to put them there.

I laid down weed control material in the shape I wanted the river bed to be and then just started adding rocks in a pattern.  It took a lot longer than I thought it would!  After several days of playing "musical rocks" I was finally finished.  I really enjoyed picking out the plants and getting them in the ground and spreading the beauty bark.  I think it looks pretty good.

I took the left over rocks and added to our fire pit.  My son had created it last summer.  It was sand and a small border of rocks.  I widened the border and then created a raised fire pit with the remaining river rocks.

It is so nice to have the yard done, it really turned out great and now I can't wait to just enjoy it!

August Workshop Cards

These are the cards that we made in my Card Workshop this last week.  It was so fun creating these cards using new product from the new Close to My Heart Autumn/Winter Catalog.

This card was made using the new Typeset paper pack and the Blue Ribbon stamp set.  I used our new Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut out the tickets and the center piece for the ribbon.

This card was made using the Mischief paper pack and the Stamp of the Month.  I stamped the witch image in black and then colored it in with markers.

This card was made using the Pair-a-Phrase stamp set which is the National Stamping Month special.  I used the AP Cricut cartridge to make the 3D flower then added our new Silver Glitz Glitter to the flower and the butterflies.  This card was also made using the Mojo Monday Mojo201 pattern.

Megan's Birthday 2008 Layout

I used Studio J to create these layouts.  I used the Emporium digital paper and I used the ribbon tab feature in Studio J to create a look of pleated ribbon across the picture, it was so fun and I love how it turned out!
